Natural sunny make-up

I did this make-up look on the weekend. It was snowing outside and it was driving me crazy. I want spring to get here now!! I got to thinking about warm nights and chilling with my friends out on the patio.

I primed my face with Aveeno stress relief moisturizing lotion and I exfoliated before I even got started. The key to this look is smooth skin. My skin tends to be on the super dry side. Sometimes I will even slick a thin layer of Vaseline on my face, it helps to blur the wrinkles and smooth the pores. (This was a trick Marilyn Monroe used to use to appear flawless on camera)

I used a light foundation in a warm peach colour all over my face. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, centre of my forehead and chin with a foundation a few shades lighter. I blended the foundation with a make-up sponge. I added a really pretty sunkissed blush, Covergirl Classic Blush in 570 Natural Glow beneath the highlight, angling up towards the temple area. I sparingly used Chanel Soleil Tan Bronzer foundation to the areas on my face to contour. I darken the areas along the edges of my forehead, the hollows of my cheeks and along the jaw bone. Blend well to make this look soft. You want to look like a natural beauty who spent the day at the beach. I really wanted the highlight on my forehead and the checkbones to pop, I dotted a really light pearl eyeshadow along these points to give the highlight some extra ooph. I think i used Covergirl eye enhancer in mink... lips...dotted a dark tangerine lipstick on the centre of the lips and blended with cover lip gloss Sheerly Nude 295.

If you really want to play up the dewy look, add a little Vaseline..and I mean a little, to your finger tips and dot it along the parts of your face you highlighted. You don't want to look greasy. My skin is so dry, I seem to be able to get away with it.

Eyes are simple, thin line of black eyeliner, smoke it out with an angle brush before it dries to make it look more natural and black mascara, added just a touch of copper/brown eye shadow to the crease.

Bring on the wine, Bellini's and patio lanterns!
