How to Rock a Metallic Dress

A metallic dress can be a a real show stopper. Fantastic for glizy events and parties.

Points to remember--less is more. Keep everything about this look simple. Keep your make-up simple, and if you are going for a full body metallic look, avoid jewelry. The dress will have all the bling you need. In this post we have a tale of two dresses. One that looks stunning and one that misses the mark. The stunning dress is a silver side-knot dress from Eloquii worn by Rebel Wilson. The dress fits perfectly which is very important. I can't stress how important it is for plus-size ladies to wear properly fitted clothes! This dress looks slinky without fitting too tightly. The style of the dress is very flattering with the side knot and ruching showing off Rebel's curves. Metallic clothes can often show off imperfections it's important to wear a good quality bra and under garments as you want the light to hit you in the right spots! Rebel wears minimal make-up and lets the shine from her blond hair and dress steal the show. The sleeves are a flattering length at the elbows and the skirt hits at an attractive length at the knees showing off her legs. This is an amazing dress and you can buy it online from Eloquii. Melissa McCarthy's dress doesn't fare as well. The V-neck of the dress creates a nice shape and brings attention to McCarthy's attractive neck and face but the sleeves and skirt are too long and weigh her down under mountains of fabric. The top has an uneven fit and looks a bit lopsided. The dark colour of the dress makes it look a bit like a glitzy trash bag. When adding shine to an all black outfit It's better to add glitter through accessories only and keep the rest of the outfit matte. Another option to add shine to matte black outfits is leather detailing. McCarthy adds a necklace to her mettalic dress which overdoes the look.
