Trend Alert: Rose Motifs

A big trend heading into Fall 2017 is the rose motif. The rose was seen everywhere on the runways, either mixed into dark wintery floral prints, or smattered on denim as "in your face" patches. We think the best take on the trend is when the rose is mixed with leather and camouflage, it takes the sweet edge off and give the look a tattoo-like effect. If you're going to wear roses, make sure you wear it with a little attitude, after-all..roses have thorns!

(Below, a preview of rose motifs on the runway, look for inspiration in the in the 2017 Fall line from Adam Selman. D&G harkening back to Dolce Gabbana 2015, the label has revived the rose in 2017. Simone Rocha peppered the floral over translucent fabrics, La Perla and Lanvin embroidered the rose to sweeten hardline skinny suits. Designer Philipp Plein added the motif to chunky streetwear knits.
